As of 1 September 2022, new rates apply to national and international items posted in Luxembourg.
To allow the use of old stamps, special stamps are available for additional franking.
How can you use old stamps?
If you have stamps with permanent validity (L50g, E50g, M50g), they will remain valid without additional franking.
Stamps with a face value below the newly applicable rates (e.g. €0.80) can still be used if you add additional postage according to the new rates.
The rate for sending a standard 50-gram letter to Luxembourg is now €1.00.
Therefore, if you still have a stamp with a face value of €0.80, you will have to add a stamp at €0.20 or two stamps at €0.10. This way you can continue to use your old stamps, as well as the old personalised "MengPost" stamps.
A standard letter to Europe now costs €1.40 and a standard letter to abroad costs €1.75. Thus, the old stamps must be supplemented with a €0.35 stamp to comply with the new rates.
The stamps with which the frankings can be supplemented are available at post offices and Espaces POST as well as in the Guichet philatélique on the Cloche d'Or and in the e-shop.
