Discover the new stamps that POST Philately will issue on 6 May 2025!
World Expo in Osaka
From 13 April to 13 October 2025, visitors of the World Expo in Osaka can visit the Luxembourg Pavilion, organised around the theme “Doki Doki – The Luxembourg Heartbeat”. It was designed by the Luxembourgish architectural firm STDM according to the principles of the circular economy.
LUGA – "Luxembourg Urban Garden"
The LUGA (Luxembourg Urban Garden), organized for the first time in Luxembourg from 7 May to 18 October 2025, will invite visitors to explore familiar environments from a new perspective and discover hidden natural and historical treasures in our cities. The special feature of this stamp sheet: inside is a packet of seeds.
25th Anniversary of HRH Grand Duke Henri’s accession to the throne
2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the accession to the throne of HRH Grand Duke Henri. On 7 October 2000, he was formally sworn in at the Chamber of Deputies, where he took the constitutional oath. On this occasion, POST Philately will issue a stamp of the Grand Ducal couple, available in two colour variants, as well as Luxembourg's first embroidered stamp.
Construction of Europe
The special series is dedicated to the history of the construction of Europe. On one hand, 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, presented by Robert Schuman on 9 May 1950, which proposed the creation of a supranational authority in the field of heavy industry. Thus, in 1951, the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) was founded, marking the first steps towards the creation of the European Union. On the other hand, the Schengen Agreement will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025: on 14 June 1985, the Federal Republic of Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg signed the Schengen Agreement aboard the Luxembourgish pleasure boat "Marie-Astrid."
Commemorating Marguerite Mongenast-Servais
Marguerite Mongenast-Servais (1882 – 1925) was one of the leading figures of the Luxembourgish feminist movement, advocating for social reforms in Luxembourg and also writing articles and poems under the pseudonym "Ysiem."
Commemorating Father Bettendorff
Jean-Philippe Bettendorff (1625 – 1698) founded the first permanent Jesuit mission station in the Amazon. Besides his missionary work, he also worked as an economic promoter, artist, and ethnographer. Bettendorff was the first European to discover the guarana plant.
EUROPA – National Archaeological Discoveries
This year, the EUROPA stamps, among the most collected in the world, are dedicated to national archaeological discoveries. In collaboration with the Institut National de Recherches Archéologiques (INRA), POST Philately has decided to highlight the Gallo-Roman theater of Dalheim/Ricciacum and the Gallo-Roman villa of Schieren.
These stamps will be available from 6 May 2025, in all Espaces POST and post offices, at the Philatelic Counter, and on the POST Philately e-shop.
