On Monday 25 July 2022, POST Luxembourg handed over a cheque for €25,000 to the non-profit organisation LUkraine, to support their actions in Luxembourg in favour of refugees from Ukraine and their humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine. The sum is the result of the entire proceeds from the sale of a special issue of solidarity and support stamps for Ukrainian refugees.
The official handover of the cheque took place in the presence of Nicolas Zharov, president of LUkraine asbl, Inna Yaremenko, vice-president of LUkraine asbl, Cliff Konsbruck, director of POST Telecom and deputy general manager of POST Luxembourg, Isabelle Faber, director of Human Resources, Public Relations & CSR of POST Luxembourg, Emile Espen, head of department of POST Philately and Gil Debanck of POST Philately.
This special issue, launched in May 2022, consists of two stamps with a postage value of €0.80 and €1.40 for sending a standard letter to Luxembourg, respectively to the international - world zone 1, of which Ukraine is part.
These solidarity stamps will remain available until 31 August 2022, in the form of sheets of eight stamps, in the POST Philately online shop, in all Espaces POST and post offices and at the philatelic counter (13, rue Robert Stümper, Cloche d'Or). Future proceeds from the sale will be donated to LUkraine asbl.
