Stamp presentation ‘Commmoration of Dr Marie-Paule Molitor-Peffer’
On 7 October 2024, a souvenir frame containing the stamp commemorating the 25th anniversary of Dr Marie-Paule Molitor-Peffer’s death was presented by Isabelle Faber,
Directrice Ressources humaines, Relations publiques et RSE at POST Luxembourg, to Ainhoa Achutegui, president of the board of directors of
Planning Familial, and Manou Worré, member of the board of directors of
Planning Familial, in the presence of Claude Balthasar,
chef de service Patrimoine & POST Philately.
After founding the
Planning Familial in 1965, Dr Marie-Paule Molitor-Peffer became the association's medical director in 1966, before working there as a gynaecologist and serving as its president between 1981 and 1992. She put words to society's taboos of the 60s and 70s, such as contraception and abortion, and thus made a decisive contribution to women's self-determination and the modernisation of Luxembourg society.
