On 24 September 2024, POST Luxembourg held its traditional Soirée du Timbre. In the presence of Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism, artists, representatives and the organisations and associations that will benefit from a stamp in 2025, PUPI gave a retrospective on the stamp issues of 2024 and presented the 2025 issue programme. Luxembourg presenter Marie Gales hosted the event.

On this occasion, the winning stamps of the ‘Schéinsten Timber 2023’ competition were unveiled. The first Luxembourg crypto stamp received the most votes and was elected the most beautiful stamp of the year 2023. A souvenir frame containing the Luxembourg lion was presented by Lex Delles to the Dutch graphic designer Sandra Smulders, who came up with the design for the winning stamp.

Second and third place went to the stamp commemorating 100 years of the Gëlle Fra and the stamp celebrating 100 years of the first stamp block.

At the same time, Louise Nilles, the winner drawn from all the participants in the election for the most beautiful stamp of 2023, received her prize: a new Fairphone 5.

The stamp was designed by Luxembourg artist Joel Meiers.

Founded in 1874, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2024. To mark the occasion, POST Philately issued a special stamp in September. A souvenir frame was presented to Benjamin Combes, chef de programme Philatélie et Coupons Réponses Internationaux (CRI) at UPU, by Isabelle Faber.
