On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, the Luxembourgish stamp "400 years Jean-Gaspard de Cicignon" was presented at the Trondheim City Hall.

Indeed, Jean-Gaspard de Cicignon was one of the few Luxembourgish nobles to be internationally recognized. After the Norwegian city of Trondheim was devastated by flames in April 1681, he developed an innovative reconstruction plan, considered a true turning point in urban planning.

It is in this context that the Luxembourgish delegation, composed of Henri Schumacher, Ambassador of Luxembourg to Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Emile Espen, chef de service POST Philately, and Martin Mörck, designer of the stamp, was warmly welcomed at the municipal house of the Norwegian city. Martin Mörck, who is himself Norwegian, presented his approach to creating the "Jean-Gaspard de Cicignon" stamp. Then, the Luxembourgish delegation also presented the city representatives with a souvenir frame containing the original stamp. This gesture was highly appreciated by Mona Berger, Deputy Mayor, and Ole Lund Renolen, Director of Cultural Affairs of Trondheim Kommune. Ambassador Henri Schumacher stated that this visit will contribute to continuing the rather unique relationship between Luxembourg and the city of Trondheim for years to come.
