Description
Dr Marie-Paule Peffer was born in Luxembourg City on 7 October 1929 as the only daughter of Joseph Peffer and Anne Bofferding. Her father was a committed doctor, and firmly supported her decision to study medicine – an unusual choice for women at that time. She began her medical studies specialising in gynaecology in Switzerland, and ended them in Nancy. On 9 December 1961, she married Georges Molitor, also a doctor, and the couple had two daughters. Dr Marie-Paule Molitor-Peffer and her husband were killed in a traffic accident on 9 September 1999.
