Description
Thanks to exceptional natural conditions, wine-growing was already practised in Luxembourg by the Celts and Gauls, and later by the Romans. Since then, wine has played an important role in the region's history, not only economically, but also in terms of tourism and culture. The region's geological and geographical diversity enables it to produce powerful, racy wines such as Elbling, Pinot blanc and Riesling, as well as round, aromatic wines such as Rivaner, Auxerrois and Pinot gris.
