Drawing Competition Grand Prix POST 2016

On 28 June 2016 POST Philately invited the winners of the philatelic drawing competition "Biodiversity" on a price ceremony. Among the 1,700 participants, a jury had chosen ten winners from the primary, and ten winners of the secondary school classes and by a lucky draw among the contributing classes the 2E of the Lycée Michel Rodange. Carole Dieschbourg, Minister of Environment and Gaston Bohnenberger, Director of POST-Technology, handed the prizes over to the winners. The best two of the competition, Yann Klees (12) and Christine Guirsch (17 years) received each one a check of 1,000 euros and their designs will be printed as stamps bearing the artists name. The value will be 0, 70 € and 0.95 €. These stamps will be on sale from 13 September on.

The Sepac group, consisting of 13 philatelic departments of very small postal operators, has held its annual General Assembly invited by Posta Fo on Faeroe Islands. Under the chairmanship of Emile Espen, head of POST Philately, le assembly has debated during one and a half day about internal affairs, listened to 3 speakers from the providers side and decided about future initiatives over the next months

500th anniversary of the Thurn and Taxis postal route

Four ministers, the mayors of the three concerned municipalities, representatives of POST Luxembourg, the Natural Park of Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium, philatelists and a large number of visitors found their way to commemorate the 500th anniversary Post Thurn und Taxis postal route on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Asselborn. Special post offices could be found at the various locations in Arzfeld (D) and Asselborn with special cancellations and stands of philatelic associations.

Multilateral Conference POST Philately

On 14 and 15 June, the representatives of philately departments and philatelic associations from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Luxembourg met in Luxembourg for a multilateral meeting. The meeting, which is hosted every year by another member-country, aims to coordinate projects, exchange of best practices and the promotion of cooperation between members. The director of Marketing and Communication of POST Luxembourg, Mr Luc Welter, had the great pleasure to present officially on June 11th the commemorative stamp “125th anniversary of Jean Jacoby” to the mayor of Schifflange, Mr Roland Schreiner and the commemorative stamp “50th anniversary of death of Marcel Noppeney” to Mr Roberto Traversini, the mayor of Differdange. Both personalities are kept in high esteem in these towns.
